Japan Tours
Japan has been described as a country where contradictions are the norm. This could not be truer. In no other country will you be able to see history and modernism up against one another like in Japan. You have to admit, one can never be bored in Japan.
This contradiction may come from the fact that Japan stayed closed to the world for so long. After opening up the borders again they played catch-up very quickly, and have now surpassed a number of Western nations.
One note of caution, due to this quick modernism a number of people outside of the major cities do not speak English. The Japanese are warm and generous people however and will still do their utmost to help you during your travels!
The best time of the year to visit Japan, regardless of the region you see, is spring. When the cherry blossoms are out and the landscape is pink with excitement and beauty. If you want, you can even make an entire tour of Japan by just following the cherry blossoms.
There are so many places to visit in Japan though that it is tough to decide where to start. Any trip to Japan should of course include some time in Tokyo, but Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Osaka and Kyoto are just as remarkable.
Japan does not only offer a city experience. Yaeyama Islands offer more of a resort experience for travelers, and Yakushima has an irresistible and intimate forest. There are fantastical gardens spread throughout the country to relax and find your inner peace, none of which can be recommended above the others as they are each so exceptional.
Mountains are a common sight in Japan, so if you do not get this at home do indulge. Any of them are incredible, but a visit to Mount Fuji would have to beat all others. Plus, Mount Fuji is also a volcano, though one unlikely to explode during your trip.
Do not worry about how you will see all of these incredible sights. Japan has one of the best transport systems in the world, so get on the train and relax till you reach your destination.
When in Japan, you must also participate in the traditional activities. View a tea ceremony and a beautiful traditional dance. Take the time to visit a Buddhist temple or Shinto temple to discover another religion. Finally, do not forget to take part in a night of karaoke, which is just as traditional as the tea!
Japan is full of contradictions. You will see a temple beside a skyscraper. When visiting Japan, remember that it has a unique, and turbulent, history which only adds to its charm. Let Japan draw you into her embrace.
